Encounters of a fat bride

I don’t know why I picked this book. May be we all have a fat girl inside us. Or may be my own current phase of acceptance.

Anyways I wanted a light laughable read. It was light not laughable. It’s no Bridget jones or Anuja Chauhan.

A chiclit with a twist but aren't they all.  A twist on pride and prejudice. In this version our dear Elizabeth is fat and obviously looking for marriage. Mr Darcy is the shy socially awkward hello but we have a reason why he behaves so. Sounds like fat Bridget Jones but our heroine finds her way to accept herself.

As this is full desi there are no bad Mr Wickham to create a love triangle. It’s just a Bermuda Triangle of marriage market. The best part of the book was the ending. Not only because it ended but it ended at a good note. Questioning the stereotypes and finding joy by freeing yourself. A man does g have to be manly and a woman didn’t have to be a dainty damsel. The grand mother was an interesting character too, lightening the marriage drama. Reminded me of Kangana’s grandmother from Queen.

Not much wisdom but some cheeky lines-

I smiled just enough to appear polite without seeming happy. It was a funeral after all.

Suddenly from being single, I was turned unmarried.
