Book in making… ๐Ÿ“–✍️

A book is in the baking.. for years. It requires tonnes of editing followed by chasing the publishing jigsaw. The theme was short stories as slices of life, inspired from my own memories and borrowed prompts from the environment. Where do you get stories from either by examining one’s own or others life too closely.

Then a friend and my husband said, that I should try my hand at funny. Their exact words were that they were expecting my excellent wit and sass in my writing. It struck a cord and that’s where Mothership was conceptualised. It’s a rainbow slice of life inspired from women and motherhood in general. Tieing my experiences both as a daughter and a mother, and thereby my mother and her grand daughter. It could be modern euphemism of a generational sandwich. Aren’t we a reflection of our mothers and our daughters ours. We carry the stories, behaviours and anecdotes from one generation to another. Like pearls of wisdom a mothers advise falls on deaf ears, realising much later the worth of those words.

My daughter is a mirror to myself as much as I am to my mother. We share our stories with our own to live thru the ages thru them. This is what motherships is. A humorous tale of motherhood, a joyride mothership, an ode to perils of mothering.

From the wicked witch, to a fairy god mother, from Nirupa Roy to Lalita Pawar, from Kaikeyi to Yashodhara, mothership has many faces. But despite everything we love our mothers. There are because we are!

Any volunteers for assisting editing and publishing of my work. I am ready to monetise but please promise to put your heart and mind to it! ๐Ÿค— It’s a service of love and hard work.
