Post Secret
Post Secret is one of those treasured books, I would never give away. I bought it at the Prithvi theatre book shop which has the most interesting and eclectic collection I have ever seen.
It is by category a coffee table book, but it’s not a usual coffee conversation. It’s about the dark, grey and the colorful secrets we live with, those which are not be told or can’t be told. Especially not to those who we are closest to or talk to but probably strangers who don’t know us and will not question us. Your tales are best told to those who don’t know you because those who know us will trace those to your history and life choices.
The secrets range from childhood fears to criminal tendencies, from love to lust, from trauma to nostalgia. We are made of all of this and survive everything to be what we are. Apparently it’s a series of books and a movement where people do send in their secrets on anonymous past cards.
I wonder if I have to send something, what would it be. Can i say those loud 🤫
Do you think sharing your secrets anonymously gives a certain release or resolution of the baggage and the pain. For me it’s a sort of therapy. If you wish to share a secret, you only need a postcard and stamps.
