The Story of a Pencil

Paulo Coelho’s wisdom has deluded me. When I read the Alchemist, I found it quite a roundabout way to say something simple. I could not understand the crowding bookshelves in the shops by his many titles and the fan following.

A close friend who really like Coelho, gifted his book to me. And honestly it sat on my book shelf for past 15 years not even touched once. Probably it was Coelho or the lost friendship. Now a bit older and a bit more mature, I pick up this book and start reading. It seems like this book was meant for my 40s. I was too young to see his wisdom and now I can see what he is trying to show.

The real wisdom is very simple. We believe that wisdom comes by reading heavy books, meditating in the mountains or living a 100 years. Real wisdom can come from anywhere. Only if you see the world with the simple eyes.

Here sharing a small sample from the book- The story of a pencil.
