Books I will never open again
An avid reader comes with own quirks. Buying books, surfing titles, picking one from the book shop shelf, turning, leafing and putting them back, finding a stool to sit and read or shifting weight on your feet as you try to read while standing.
Home filled with piles of book shelves, bed stands with no place to keep anything else, book marks parked in various books, a book for the travel, another for the bathroom. Finding libraries in strangers homes, moving your fingers on the titles, and sticking one out from the top to explore better.
Touching the book’s yellow pages to get a whiff of where it has been, how many and who enjoyed it, the smell of the mist, the smell of the dust and the smell of the fingers touching the corners to pull the leaves. Finding a turned page corner and reading to discover why this page was earmarked.
The books borrowed and never returned and the books given leaving empty places behind. The books which exchanged many hands and still finding their place back on the shelf. The books with quotes written as farewell gifts, as birthday or just something a pen friend once gave you. So many stories behind each book connecting my life to countless others.

So many memories and so many stories. Still there are books which stay on my shelf never yo be opened again.
A quote from the latest book I am reading. Out of respect for all the books I have read and have been part of my life. I know I will not read you again but you will still stay a part of my life!
