Types of Readers

One book wonders
You probably know them, ones who have only read one. Yes they have only read that one book - probably the most famous on best sellers list or a sensational book which left the waves around for long last. My brother is one, he has read only one book- Biography of Osama Bin Ladin, and apparently it’s always a good conversation.

Holiday readers
Like weekend readers they only read when they have spare time, they plan and list books they would carry for travel and the time off. Because once they are back the routine does not allow, and reading is like a holiday to do list.

Wanna be readers
They rather be caught dead than without a book to go with their geek chic look nowadays. It colts be either a classic or a philosophical book to get attention from people- sunbathing like a Shantaram. They of course don’t know that you have been roaming that book for months but could never finish it.

Regular readers
These people read regularly with shared genres of the family, and a library full of books. There parents are avid readers too and they make sure they make their kids read too. They are the perfectionists of the book world, and a steady income for book shops and probably the reason they still are there.

Owl readers
Ones who burn the midnight lamp and binge read books one after another. There is no day or night, once they pick a book they need to finish, come hail or earthquake. My husband is the kinds...

Previous readers
They claim to be voracious readers, in a glorious past when they ruled the time. They had all the time in the world earlier, and read almost anything. But now with family, children, job and what not they have no time to. Basically they tried reading, enjoyed it but won’t go back any soon.

Review readers
Yes the ones who are found in book clubs and good reads, rating and reviewing books. At one point my blog was also amongst top 10 book blogs in India.

Reader to Writer
Finally the one who dreams to write one day. They read every book not only to enjoy it but as a homework or research for their own writing someday. You only realise once you start reading, that you have a story to tell. While authors are always avid readers but it’s not true the other way. But a story from your hears enters your head And then needs an outlet to the paper. Very lucky are those who can cover the distance from reading to writing.. its long and never easy with smaller goals being the distraction to the big one. Your own creation, your writing, your own first published book and your own story. And that’s me

You must always aspire! And tell the world your dream, then you would need to do it!
