Lalla lalla lori

Remember Lori!

That Ma used to sing and teach! You remember those words. There are so many Lori, I have heard. From mother, aunts, grandmothers... That's what they are for. To make a child sleep beautifully. All mothers sing even those who can't and they sound the sweetest.

Remember Friends!! And Monica's Lori for Emma, Rachel's daughter.
Bouncy baby, Bouncy!!
Bouncy baby, Bouncy!!

The most iconic Lori inspired by Bollywood is Lalla Lalla Lori. Anyone and everyone would have heard this or sing it.

Lalla lalla Lori,
Dhood ki katori.
Dhood main batasha,
Munna Kare tamasha!

You could change Munna to the pet or love name of baby. It was even sung so beautifully.

There are many loris which are not on media. Here is one I grew up on!!

Upar pankha chalta hai,
Niche baby Sota hai.
Sote sote bhookh lagi,
Khalo beta mungfali.
Mungfali main danna nahin,
Hum tumhare mamma nahin.
Mama gaye Dilli,
Wahan se laye Billi.
Billi ne mara panja,
Mama ho gaya ganja!

And it goes on and on! And it's super cute!! The all time popular Lori are listed here -

- Ram kare aisa ho jaye, mori neendiya tohe lag jaye, main jagoon tu so jaye (Milan)

- Zu Zu Zu Zu, Yashoda ka nand lala, jag ka ujala (Sanjog)

- Surmai ankhion main, ik nanha munha sapna de ja re, Ra ra ri ri, hoon!! (Sadma)

- Nanhi kalli sone chali (Sujata)

- Jag ja ri Gudia, mishri ki pudia!! (Omkara)

It's more of a Lori to wake one up lovingly. It's my personal favourite!

And if you want to scare a baby to never sleep - just sing! So ja Rajkumari by K L Saigal.

Well Lori to pyaari hoti hai, kyon ki neend  pyaari hai!

So ja ri Guddu, pyaari si budhu!
Mummy ki lado, Kitni hai paaro!
Raat ho gayi, so gaye sab koi!
Tu kyon jage,
Mummy Bhi jage!
So ja ri Guddu!

To all my loving children!!
